Tele-Traffic was invited to take part in a special church service to remember victims of road traffic accidents.

The service was held at Guildford’s Holy Trinity Church where the congregation was joined by Tele-Traffic and members of the charity RoadPeace.

Robert Cotton, rector at Holy Trinity Church, invited Paul Garratt, managing director at Tele-Traffic, to join him in his sermon where they discussed the importance of speed cameras in the effort to reduce deaths on the road. The sermon was particularly relevant to those in the congregation who had lost family and friends in road accidents caused by speeding drivers. 

Robert said: “I was first introduced to Paul as someone who claimed he had the most despised job in the world; however, no one can under estimate the effect that speed cameras have made in the fight against speeding drivers. I have had to comfort many families who have lost loved ones in road accidents and once you see the effect on those left behind you cannot ignore anything that will help to reduce this.”

Paul also presented a donation cheque for £250 to RoadPeace, a charity that seeks to improve the safety on our roads and provide comfort to those families who have suffered as a direct result of road traffic accidents.

Paul said: “Deaths on the roads due to speeding drivers in the UK have fallen from over 8,000 to under 4,000 in recent years and whilst speed cameras may not be everybody’s favourite enforcement tool there is no doubt that deaths have been reduced because of them.”
