Speed camera manufacturer Tele-Traffic has had the latest product it offers approved for use in the detection of speeding offences.
The redesigned TruSpeed Data Collector handheld device has been given official approval by the Home Office, meaning it can now be used by police forces in their speed limit enforcement work.
It uses the latest advances in laser technology combined with a new, lighter exterior design. This makes it faster and easier to use, resulting in more accurate speed readings.
With a maximum range of 750m, the TruSpeed DC can take readings of up to 200mph in just a third of a second. Its battery operation provides up to 25 hours of cordless operation.
The battery-operated device also comes fitted with the first effective anti-detector/jammer programme, designed to prevent interference from outside sources. There is also an integrated data collection storage facility which is easily downloadable.
Paul Garratt, managing director at Tele-Traffic, said: “We are delighted that the TruSpeed DC has been officially approved by the Government for speed enforcement use.
“Using the latest laser technology to provide even more accurate data, we are confident that the TruSpeed DC will make a real difference to the important speed enforcement work of police forces up and down the country.”
